Global Money Week is an annual global awareness campaign sponsored by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), dedicated to ensuring that young people develop strong financial habits from an early age.
The goal? To equip young people with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors needed to make smart financial decisions and achieve long-term financial well-being.
Since its launch in 2012, the campaign has reached over 60 million young people in 176 countries—and this year, Pichiri is making sure even more students in Curaçao get the chance to participate!
Skol di Plaka Sessions Return for Global Money Week Curaçao 2025
After a successful first edition last year, Pichiri is excited to bring Skol di Plaka Sessions back for Global Money Week 2025! Once again, we’re empowering young schoolgoing people (15 - 18 years old) in Curaçao with the financial skills they need to create a stable and independent future.
We believe that financial education is one of the keys to more freedom. Through Skolndi Plaka, our mission is to give young people the tools and confidence to take control of their money and make smart financial choices.
Through interactive sessions, we break down essential topics like budgeting, saving, responsible spending, and phishing —but we don’t stop at theory. We make learning practical, engaging, and directly applicable to real-life situations.

Managing money well doesn’t just happen overnight. The earlier young people learn financial skills like saving, planning, and resisting spending temptations, the better prepared they’ll be for the future.
With Skol di Plaka, we empower young people (ages 15-18) in the Dutch Caribbean by teaching them about financial independence in their own language, Papiamentu or in Dutch.
What will they learn?
- Why control on personal finances is important
- How to manage personal finances
- Dealing wisely with debt and borrowing
- Digital Money Matters & Scams
